Who am I?

Hi there! If this is your first time visiting Brightest Day, then welcome. If you’ve been here before, it’s great to see you again.

This page is here so that I can tell you a bit more about who I am, and what this blog is all about. If you want to get in touch with me, then the best place to go is my contact page, and if you want to find out a bit more about the name of this blog, you’ll find that here.

So anyway, about me.

My name is Ben Garry. I’m Christian, male, English. I like to read books and comics, watch and play sport, and talk far too much about superheroes. In my non-blogging life, I currently work 3 days a week for a digital marketing agency called Impression, and I spend the other 2 days doing the Discipleship Year at my church, Trent Vineyard in Nottingham.

I have a passion for God, a passion for learning and a passion for sharing my thoughts. Those three things come together quite nicely when you’re writing blog posts. The posts within this blog tend to be about issues that matter to me as a 21st century Christian, whether those are issues I pick up from conversations with friends, that arise in the books I read or the music I listen to, or whether those issues are just things that are on my mind. I aim to share them and write out blog posts that just about make sense and (hopefully) give you, the reader, a bit of an insight into what I’m thinking.

I appreciate that most readers will not agree with everything I say and I’m fine with that. I’m not a fan of dressing things up to make them seem nice and I am not a fan of compromising my beliefs to make them more acceptable to other people. If you disagree with me and want to tell me that then that’s fine, just go ahead and write a comment and I’ll do my best to reply as soon as possible.

The internet is a fantastic place for people to talk about what they believe; it brings together people from across the globe in an instant. I hope that by writing this blog I’m tapping into that communication and sharing what I believe in an effective and readable way. You can be the judge of how well I do!

Hopefully you’ll have a look around the site and find something worth reading.
