A Quick Post About FART

on

When I found out about this in church today, I just knew that I had to share it on my blog! This isn’t going to be a long post because I didn’t hear the preach in which this was mentioned, but it’s fairly self explanatory and it fits with a lot about what I’ve been saying in previous posts.

Without further ado:

Fighting

Against

Religious

Tradition

This is what Jesus did. I don’t know how many people who don’t know him as a Christian actually understand that the things Jesus taught were radical. They were not easy for the people of the time to believe and they certainly weren’t borrowed from nearby religions. It’s a bit of a cliche now, but Jesus was a revolutionary. He broke down the barriers of religious tradition that separated men from God and made holiness accessible to all. He showed compassion to society’s outcasts and healed the untouchables. He put the religious teachers in their place and he died so that we don’t have to. In short, he was a pretty awesome guy.

Remember, religious tradition is not always religious truth, so when you see something that you know isn’t right, FART.
